Children are naturally curious about their world and they enjoy exploring it. Why are things around us so beautiful and wonderful? Why have we been living with these things? Can I contribute to these things around me? These and other questions propel them to find answers. They also appreciate the beauty and wonders of their world. Thank God the Ministry of Education has structured the subject Our World and Our People. This is most appropriate. This book, Our World and Our People has been structured to improve learners knowledge on the environment, the culture, belief systems, religion, geographical locations and other relevant events. The book follows the key learning outcomes including knowledge, skills and attitude or values which are referred to as standards based (NaCCA Ministry of Education, 2019). Our children should know, and who will let them know about Our World and Our People. To facilitate this, Kwasi Agyekum-Hene, Kwabena Nyanor Aboraa and John Akwasi Amponsah have researched and written books on the subject Our World and Our People at all levels of our basic schools to support the Ghanaian child, the facilitator, and to enhance the curriculum, and the Ministry of Education at large. The learners’ book one (1) edition of Our World and Our People has activities, elaborations and exercises for all the five (5) strands, namely: All About Us, All Around Us, Our Beliefs and Values, Our Nation Ghana and My Global Community.
